| Each year the Warrington Motorcycle Club mans the Darley Moor Checkpoint for the National Rally. The standard of our checkpoint has been praised by rally organisers and competitors alike. Some members have also taken part in the rally, last year four WMCC members attained the gold award.
In 1999 the club raised over £700 for the Lee Sherratt Appeal Fund through raffles, the proceeds of a 70's night and a sponsored truck pull.
We are always well represented at the BMF show. We have won the trophy for Best Local Club Stand on several occasions, most recently in 1997.
Last year we held a mini-moto evening and a karting evening. Both events were highly successful and were even attended by the likes of British Superbikes privateer Jim Hodson. We have also fielded several teams on the "Bikers Night Off" game show on the Granada satellite TV channel.
On the social side of things we hold an annual dinner dance and presentation evening, where trophies are awarded to the members with the most club points. In 1998 we celebrated the 35th anniversary of the club with a sixties party, complete with sixties band, competitions, a buffet and prizes for the Best Sixties Outfit. We managed to trace several original WMCC members and also invited honorary life member Tommy Robb and sponsor Tom Grainger.

WMCC Sunday runs leave McDonalds drive-thru on the A49 in Warrington every Sunday morning at 9.00am. We organise runs to race meetings, to particular destinations, to the club camps as well as going on more general mystery tours. The destination for the run is publicised in the "COMPASS" newsletter and announced at the club on the preceding Friday night. We have a code of conduct for the runs, so that nobody gets left behind and everybody can enjoy themselves.
During the Summer months there are also Wednesday evening runs leaving from the Poplar 2000 truckstop at Lymm and this Summer we plan to introduce a women only run for Wednesday evenings too.
Club camps are organised about a once a month, with camps further afield over bank holiday weekends and at Easter. In recent years we have camped in Somerset, Wales and Anglesey.
Groups from WMCC visit the Isle of Man each year for the TT and Manx Grand Prix and several members have also toured around Europe.

Many WMCC members have trained as race marshals and we are invited to the marshals' training course at Oulton Park each year. The course involves learning about what marshals do, how to use flags, basic First Aid and you get to have a go at putting out a real fire! Following this course our members have gone on to marshal at Oulton Park and some other circuits. Some of our members have even gone on to marshal for the British and World Superbikes.
Others have signed on as marshals in the Isle of Man, both during the TT and the Manx Grand Prix.
We have also got involved with more general marshalling duties at events such as the Great Northern Bike Show, the BMF show and Charlie's Mega Make-a-wish Run.
This year we shall also be marshalling the Thundersprint 2000 at Three Sisters Circuit in May.

Warrington Motorcycle Club meets every Friday from 8pm at Winwick Hospital Social Club, where we have our own club room, ample safe parking and a cheap bar!
We are a friendly bunch, both men and women, ranging in age from 17 to 70!
Friday nights are a chance to meet up with your biking mates and find out what the club is doing over the weekend. From time to time we also enjoy videos, quizzes and guest speakers.
The "COMPASS" newsletter is published each month and members are also able to order bike spares and accessories at discount prices.
VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
