Welcome To The Warrington MCC

The Warrington Motorcycle Club was founded in 1963, the Club began life with twenty or so members, who used to meet in the Appleton Thorn Village Hall. WMCC members then enjoyed a wide range of activities and events, including runs, camps, trials and in 1965 a motorcycle exhibition and a boat race!

In the mid-seventies the Club moved to Martinscroft Mission Hall, where membership grew to about eighty. By the late seventies membership had peaked at around 130 and the Club had moved to Orford Community Centre.

The eighties saw a decline in the popularity of biking and consequently a drop in WMCC membership. This prompted the Club to move yet again, first to Grappenhall and then to the Black Bear at Latchford.

The nineties heralded a renaissance in biking for both young and old. WMCC membership started to grow once again and in 1995 the Club moved to it's present home at the Winwick Hospital Social Club. Recent years have been successful for the Club, which won the trophy for the Best Local Club Stand at the BMF rally in both 1995 and 1997.

WMCC now has over 120 members. These days activities include marshalling, rallies, mini-moto evenings and social events as well as regular runs and camps. Members enjoy discounts from local bike-related businesses and have their very own monthly newsletter.

After 35 years, Warrington Motorcycle Club is one of the oldest motorbike clubs in Great Britain that is not restricted to one single make of bike. Here's to the next 35 years!
