About The Vintage Motor Cycle Club

"The Vintage Motor Cycle Club, with more than 13,500 members, united by the common appreciation of the engineering skill and vision of those who built the pioneer machines, has ensured that such machines are not preserved as lifeless exhibits in a museum, but are brought to life on frequent occasions in order that a new generation can marvel at the handiwork of the pioneers, and an older generation can once again view with nostalgia, the machines they rode in days gone by".

START LINE AT BANBURY

The Vintage Motor Cycle Club was formed 50 years ago by a band of 38 enthusiasts and membership today stands at over 13,500 - but this has been achieved without losing any of the camaraderie or helpfulness usually associated with smaller clubs.

When you join the Club, you will be entitled to attend as many of its 75 UK Sections as you wish, and most Sections have at least one Club night each month.

The winter Club nights may consist of talks when you may learn a new skill, Bring and Buys which may be the place where you find that missing part, a film or slide night using items loaned free from the Club's libraries, or maybe a Quiz to test your knowledge of men and machines in days gone by.

Most sections organise a wide range of events including runs which are tailored to suit the needs of the different types of machines on all kinds of roads.

If your particular enjoyment is found in off-road events, the VMCC can also offer a variety of disciplines.

The Grasstrack and Speedway Section organises a series of grasstrack and grass hill climb events together with the occasional outing on a professional speedway track.

Sprint events are also in the calendar, including two which are very well known, and, to fill your season, invitations from other clubs allow you to enjoy a full year's sport.

The Racing Section of the VMCC has attained an enviable reputation for its efficient organisation and the friendly atmosphere always found at race meetings which are held on circuits throughout the UK.

Trials are organised by numerous Sections, giving a full winter's "mud plugging".
